The holidays are a time for giving and this year, ChapmanBlack powered by Endorsed decided to contribute to the holiday spirit of giving back and complete this year's charity money-raising challenge. This event was jam-packed full of exciting activities, delicious treats and even a roof-raising party. The company broke into teams and competed against each other to raise the most, each team coming up with different ideas and activities to beat one another. Studies show team building exercises like this helps boost engagement in the workplace, so we thought what better way to do this than to put on a challenge? On average, businesses lose a shocking £18.7 billion per year from miscommunication as a result of bad teamwork. It’s safe to say that team building is pretty important. With our event, we managed to step up our game and give back to charity. All in all, we raised a grand total of £10k for Great Ormond Street Hospital due to our combined efforts.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity
On a daily basis, over 600 children across the UK arrive at Great Ormond Street Hospital for support and care. This hospital is a pioneer in children’s healthcare worldwide. Despite being an NHS funded hospital, they still rely on charitable donations to fund vital research and provide supportive treatments. We at ChapmanBlack powered by Endorsed wanted to support GOSH’s mission by competing amongst each other in our money-raising challenge. We chose to raise money for GOSH as this particular charity hits us close to home. One of our colleague's sister was supported by them as a child and shared her experience of their amazing work.
The four thrilling weeks of fundraising separated into multiple events - all held by competing teams fighting to raise the most. Each team came up with one or more activity, from the useful to the delicious to the completely wacky with all the money collectively raised donated as part of GOSH’s charity. These included a luxury raffle, a game of beer pong and a FIFA tournament. Not to mention a mouth-watering bake sale that would impress the likes of Paul Hollywood. Some members even contributed to the festivities with their own individual ideas including a team member who ran in his very first marathon in Reykjavik.
The challenge ended on a high note with a spooky Halloween party organised by the Endorsed team. The entirety of Endorsed and ChapmanBlack was able to let their hair down for an evening of partying and fancy dress, where the drinks were flowing just as much as the charitable contributions were.
After a few fun-filled weeks raising money, our teams raised an amazing total of £10k for Great Ormond Street Hospital. We’re very excited about contributing to the life-saving work of GOSH and helping make a difference gave us a real sense of achievement as a team. With a recent visit to the hospital, the management team were able to donate our funds face-to-face and see for ourselves how our contribution will help. GOSH are currently in the works of an ambitious strategy to raise more than £500 million by 2020 and we hope our contribution will be able to help reach this goal.
Here at Endorsed and Chapmanblack, we're incredibly pleased to achieve such a successful result. We take great pride in our triumphs, which aren’t limited to this charity challenge, of course. We hope to keep up the good teamwork and continue with our charitable accomplishments. Congratulations to every member of ChapmanBlack and Endorsed for making our event such a huge success with their team building skills. Every action is appreciated and everyone truly went above and beyond.
